Quality education is a key to achieving all SGDs. At Umubano Academy, our students collaborate with students from South Hamptead High School in UK to learn together about SDGs. They are now working on responsible consumption and production. Students have created a lot of projects on recycling the waste. Sharing resources and doing virtual meetings is an evidence of international partnership for goals.
#thinkglobalactlocal In The School's Education for Positive Peace Programme, UA has started an environmental protection and beatification campaign. Thank you learners, teachers and parents for welcoming this initiative.
Today, Umubano Academy community was privileged to host the British High Commissioner in Rwanda. He commented that the children are happy , engaged and the school is beautiful.
As Sophocles once said: " Without labor nothing prospers.” I would also say that without good education all other jobs would not prosper. Thank you so much for choosing to be EDUCATORS and most especially at Umubano Academy.
Happy international labour day to everyone! Today on 23rd April, the entire world is celebrating the International Day of the Book also known as World Book Day. It is a good opportunity for us as a school to promote reading and writing. During this COVID 19 period, let us spread the word about how books are great tools people can use to combat isolation, to keep learning even if some schools may be in lockdown, to keep sharing our thoughts and feelings and to develop our creativity.
Happy World Book Day None would deny that women are source of life, knowledge, joy… Celebrating the international women’s day is acknowledging women’s great deeds in our everyday life. Happy women’s day!
"Aiming very high, right from the first day of school". This was the energy that marked the start of the 2020 academic year at Umubano Academy. The opening day was celebrated with plenty of smiles and hugs. Students settled into school very quickly, thanks to the teachers’ warm welcome, and they enjoyed being together as they excitedly began on their first classroom activities. Within our school community, the staff, administrative members and students, all contribute to setting the stage for a school year full of enthusiasm and lots of excitement, right from opening day. This includes our Senior One students, who will enjoy engaging in the kids MBA course during February this year, together with British students from Oaklands School: https://www.oaklands.towerhamlets.sch.uk/.
Thank you parents for choosing Umubano Academy. We look forward to a wonderful partnership with you this year, together with your children in Nursery, Primary, Senior One and Two! It was our honour to facilitate this learning visit to Meteo Rwanda. We believe that learning in real life situations makes students more knowledgeable, skilled and they also adopt many new positive values. Thank you #meteorwanda for teaching these young generations – now our students are very interested in meteology, weather stations and your specialist equipment. This would not have been possible if they hadn’t come to you!
Quality education produces good world citizens - students with a global mindset. This is only possible when there is no physical barrier to educating the young generation. P1 and P2 students were recently privileged to experience this in a real life lesson about “Means of Transport” under the topic of “Air transport” at Kigali International Airport. Thank you to the team of Rwanda Airports Company and RwandAir for your warm welcome and for facilitating this lesson for our students.
