 Yesterday, all the children at Umubano participated in One Goal, One Peace, a football initiative that was run internationally in Rwanda and England to promote peace and unity. Every child, from Nursery up to P6 had the opportunity to share their football skills by doing an age appropriate challenge, ranging from shooting the ball to scoring against their teacher!  Didier Bana, the Coordinator for Football for Hope, Peace and Unity in Rwanda, joined us for the event and spoke to the children about the importance of Sport as a tool for bringing different people together. The event was well supported by teachers and enjoyed by everyone.

On this Friday we said Goodbye to Emily Gilkinson who started working at the school in 2012 as APIE Director. Invited Guests, Parents, Staff and Children joined in with speeches of thanks and farewell wishes. Official introductions were made to the incoming School Director, Amy, and Office Manager, Rosemary. The children closed the event by dancing and offering gifts of appreciation to Madam Emily.   |
