Aiming at improving the quality of education, the City of Kigali organizes schools’ peer evaluation every year. The assessment looks at different components including: school infrastructure, the ratio of equipment in a school to the number of students, the students’ discipline, teaching and learning, hygiene, facilities, professionalism in school administration and P6 performance in National examinations. After 2017 schools’ peer evaluation, Kigali City held the Education conference at Hill Top Hotel on 27th June 2017 and five outstanding schools were announced. Our school is ranked the third among 215 primary schools that were inspected in Nyarugenge, Gasabo and Kicukiro Districts. The first two schools are both from Nyarugenge District meaning our school is the best in Kicukiro District.
This success was possible because of the deep commitment and collaboration of all our stakeholders. We are very gratitude to parents, teachers and staff, our friends at A Partner In Education, students and the Government for their effort in boosting the quality of education and making Umubano Primary School to shine.
