To lift up and raise the quality of education, the whole community needs to be involved. The strength of schools is due to the collaboration between themselves and other educational stakeholders. Even if schools can be in different contexts, they can still collaborate because they can learn from different experiences and educate for a bright future for the whole world. Martyn Vandewalle, Head of the Wroxham school, with staff at Umubano Primary School in 2016 In Martyn’s one week visit to Rwanda, we learnt many things from him, as he did from us - he was excited by the educational standard at Umubano. After his visit, there are some ideas we immediately started implementing and we are very sure they will make a difference here. In my visit to UK, I went to different schools including: The Wroxham School, Brunswick Primary School and Hove Park School and I also attended different conferences. Addressing the assembly at Brunswick school In all these different places I learned different professional lessons and leadership skills. All these schools I visited are well organised, resourced, equipped, welcoming… With all the package of knowledge and skills I got from there, I do not doubt that they will make a difference to our school and to the whole Rwandan education as our vision goes beyond our school. In my visit, I again noticed how lucky Umubano Primary School is to have APIE as our educational partner and how hard they work to keep improving the quality of education at our school and consequently in Rwanda in general. After the APIE event in London "Collaboration is a key to become outstanding schools as in English they say: “unity is strength”. If working together leads to great achievements, Education should embark on this as it always aims at a very noble but tough target to make our world a better place to live in"
