Literacy centers up and running

Literacy centers is an international best practice for teaching reading and writing. The teacher sets up a variety of activities for students to do INDEPENDENTLY that builds their reading and writing skills. While students are busy completing these activities, the teacher pulls small groups of six students at a time for an intensive reading lesson tailored to their exact level. The teachers in P1-3 have all received training in this approach and are now using centers on a daily basis. The students are engaged and always busy, which is great to see. This is something very unique about our school and something to be proud of! ​
