Admissions Process

Students are welcome to register for the following academic year as follows:

Contact the school to check availability for the classes you require
Upon confirmation, pay the registration fee of 20,000 RWF

Please supply the following documentation to the school office:

Proof of payment / Payment receipt
Completed registration form
2x passport photos of the student
Any school reports from previous schools

School Calendar

As the Government continues to monitor the Covid-19 pandemic and the challenges it poses to different sectors, it has been decided that the earliest schools may reopen is September 2021. The detailed school calendar will be shared in due course.

Hours

Depending on their level, students attend classes for different lengths of time. All students are expected to be in school before classes begin and are not permitted to leave during the school day. Lunch can either be packed from home or purchased at school by signing up for the lunch program.

All pupils are expected to be in school by the time of the start of their schedule to allow the smooth beginning of class operations.

The schedule for the different classes are as follows:

Nursery: 7:15am - 12:30pm
Primary 1-4: 7:15am - 15:30pm
Primary 5-6: 7:15am - 16:30pm
Senior 1-3: 7:15am - 16:30pm

Fees

Registration Fee - 20,000 RWF (one off fee) - Due at the time of registration
Tuition (Nursery 1- Primary 4) - 91,000 RWF per term
Tuition (Primary 5 & Primary 6) - 120,000 RWF per term
Tuition (Senior 1 - Senior 2) - 150,000 RWF per term
After school club 9,000 RWF per term(15:30 - 16:30)
After hours care 20,000 RWF per term (13:30 - 15:30)
A discount of 10,000 RWF is given to parents with more than one child for only one child

Tuition is due at the beginning of each term and includes Accident Insurance

Uniform

A full set of uniform costs 33,000 RWF (Nursery) and 37,000 RWF (Primary)

This includes:

2 complete uniforms
1 sweater
1 sports outfit
2 pairs of socks

All payments must be made at the bank and the bank slip given to the office as proof of payment.

Student Lunch Programme

Umubano Academy provides meals to students at the following rates:

Breakfast + Lunch : 65,000 RWF per term.
Breakfast only : 25,000 RWF per term.
Lunch only : 50,000 RWF per term.

Parents are free to provide food for their own children if they wish and find it more affordable.

After School Club

Students with older siblings in P5 or P6 are welcome to join our After-School club which runs daily from 15:30-16:30pm. This club features a range of extra curricular activities, such as art, drama, story telling and sports which allows younger students to be entertained whilst their siblings finish studying. The cost for this is 3000 RWF per month.
After school club for nursery students is from 12:30 pm to 15:30 pm at a cost of 20,000 RWF per month.

Independent & Cooperative Learning

Students learn how to work together and independently to accomplish tasks, both in and outside of the classroom.

Critical Thinking

We encourage children to develop problem solving skills from an early age so they can apply their minds to any of life's challenges.

Peace Education

Our message of peace is advocated in everything we do and corporal punishment is never used at our school.
